What’s for dinner? How about an easy chicken stir fry everyone will love! Stir fry is so easy and quick to make, and has tons of tasty variations!
Chicken Stir Fry
An easy, versatile dinner
I love to make stir fry for dinner! I included a couple of my favorite recipes, and some of the tips and tricks I have learned to make this meal even simpler, or just add some variety.
You will find some stir fry recipes call for Fresh Garlic Cloves and Ginger. I have often realized too late I didn’t have these items on hand, and/or I didn’t want to buy these for only one meal. You can use Garlic Powder to substitute for the Fresh Garlic, and Ground Ginger or Ginger Paste (store bought – comes in a tube) in place of Fresh Ginger. Here are the equivalent measurements for your convenience:
- 2 Cloves Fresh Garlic = 1/4 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Grated Fresh Ginger = 1/4 teaspoon Ground Ginger
- Ginger Paste – The one I have used is 1 teaspoon Grated Fresh Ginger = 1 teaspoon Ginger Paste. I suggest you read the equivalent instruction on the tube to ensure a correct conversion for the brand.
Other Tips:
You can spice up any stir fry with a pinch of red pepper flakes in the sauce, or sprinkle on your individual serving! Top off your stir fry with chopped nuts, toasted sesame seeds, or chopped green onions for a punch of extra flavor and crunch!
Really in a pinch for time, or just too plain tired to make a sauce from scratch? No problem! You can just use a store bought sauce instead! How? Once the chicken is browned and no longer pink in the middle, add in your thawed veggies and sauce, cover and simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally until heated through. About 3 to 5 minutes.
